Video Project Proposal
I believe that a video is the best way to promote literacy at U of D because the format is more interesting and attention grabbing. Students will be able to relate to the video and will be more interested in the wit and will eventually see the end lesson for themselves. Students want to see a video that is funny but also informative so they can get the best of both worlds. The video will include other students and friends to act in so that people around the school will be familiar with the actors and want to read. The video will be a reversal of traditional roles, where the “cool” kids read books. They will be reading in a room when a kid who does not read walks by, where he is then bullied for it. He gets up and takes the book to read, where he instantly becomes one of the cool kids with books. There may be some inspirational music after the kid realizes that books are actually cool and he instantly gets sunglasses. He will say a clever saying for why Reading is cool, and for why students at U of D should make an effort to read. The closing will have a transition of text that will have an inspirational quote about reading to top off the video. I feel that this video will be really effective in promoting reading around the school in a fun and casual way that does not put a lot of pressure on teenagers like us. This video will be posted on YouTube, so it can be seen by everyone, and it will have a link from my blog account.

ReplyDeleteI think a video is a great idea because it's more interesting than posters. I think this video will be funny which will get it more views. Be sure to post the Youtube link so that many people can see it. My only questions are, what editing techniques will you use? Will they be like other Youtube videos or something different?
DeleteHave you considered putting a link somewhere else other than your blog? I think more people will see it if you post it on social media you can draw more people in.
ReplyDeleteHey Griffin, unless you are out there promoting your blog, I'm not sure that is the best way to gain viewers. Where are some other places you could post your link? Have you thought about trying to get your video on the Cub Broadcast?
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good idea making the video very relatable and are you going to put something at the end of the video like facts about reading or just your slogan?
